Verify beneficial ownership against the register, and keep the record.

The Money Laundering Regulations require you to identify and verify beneficial owners, understand ownership and control structures, and evidence it. Doing that by hand across a group is slow and inconsistent between analysts.

What you get

  • Ultimate beneficial owners with nature of control and notification dates, direct from the PSC register.
  • Control structures made visible, including intermediate holding companies.
  • Discrepancies between the PSC register and the actual shareholder list, flagged.
  • Adverse indicators (insolvency and Gazette notices) surfaced per entity. Probate is coming soon, and available now on Bricksmart.ai.

How it goes

  1. 1

    Search the customer entity

    Company or individual.

  2. 2

    Identify UBOs

Everyone at 25%+ with the nature of control and the date it was notified.

  3. 3

    Reconcile against the register

Where the shareholder register disagrees with the PSC filing, you'll see it.

  4. 4

    Screen the adverse layers

Insolvency cases and Gazette notices touching the entities and people involved. Probate is coming soon, and available now on Bricksmart.ai.

Case study

Onboarding a corporate client under MLR 2017

The situation

A regulated firm needs to identify and verify every beneficial owner of a new corporate client before onboarding can complete, and evidence how each was identified.

What they did

The MLRO opens the client entity, reads every UBO with their nature of control and notification date direct from the PSC register, and reconciles it against the shareholder register the client provided, which is where a discrepancy on one holder's percentage turns up.

The result

The discrepancy is resolved and documented before the account opens, not discovered in a file review six months later, and the structure chart itself becomes the evidence pack.
