Terms
Terms of service
What this is, what it isn't, and the terms you agree to by using it. Last updated: September 2026.
What this is
whatdotheyown.com is operated by Subfocus Technologies Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14775280) with its registered office at c/o Savvy Accountancy, Kenward House, High Street, Hartley Wintney, Hampshire, RG27 8NY. It reads UK public registers (Companies House and HM Land Registry) and presents the ownership and control structure of a company or person in one view. By using the site you agree to these terms.
What this isn't
This is not legal, financial, tax or regulatory advice, and it is not a substitute for the customer due diligence, know-your-customer or anti-money-laundering checks a regulated business is required to carry out. Where a decision depends on beneficial ownership, sanctions status or company standing, verify the underlying filing at source (Companies House or HM Land Registry directly) before relying on it.
Accuracy
We read data directly from the public register and display it as we last fetched it; we do not independently verify it and it may lag the register by up to the caching windows described in our privacy policy, or reflect an error in the source filing itself. The service is provided without any warranty that it is accurate, complete or up to date, to the fullest extent the law allows.
Acceptable use
You may use the site to look up companies and individuals for legitimate business purposes (the kind described on our use-cases pages). You may not scrape, bulk-extract or systematically republish the site's content, attempt to circumvent rate limits or access controls, or use anything you find here to harass, stalk, or intimidate a named individual. We can suspend access for anyone we reasonably believe is doing any of these things.
Subscriptions and billing
Professional is a monthly subscription. Payment details are held by our payments partner, Stripe; we never store full card numbers on our own servers. Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel, and you won't receive a reminder before each renewal. You can cancel at any time from your account or by emailing info@bricksmart.ai; you keep Professional until the end of the month you've already paid for. If a renewal charge is declined, we'll notify you and retry the card a small number of times over the following days; if it still can't be taken, your account returns to the free plan. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email before any increase to the subscription price. Enterprise access for multiple seats is arranged directly with us, on terms set out in that agreement.
Refunds
If you ask within 10 days of a subscription charge, we will refund it in full, no questions asked. After that, refunds are at our discretion: we may issue one where you can point to exceptional circumstances (for example illness, bereavement or proven fraud) and these terms have not been breached.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for any loss arising from a decision made in reliance on data shown on this site, including inaccurate, incomplete or outdated register data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Changes
We may update these terms as the product changes; continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms, their subject matter and their formation are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You and we agree that the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any non-waivable consumer-protection rights you may have where you live.
